How I earned my first $5 through Blogging? -My Honest Blogging Journey

How I earned $5 through blogging

While I was about to search for the Panner Butter Masala recipe for tonight’s dinner, I suddenly switched to another tab and checked my Ezoic Access Now dashboard. (Ad network)

I made $5 out of ads that are viewed by my readers. I know it is very low, but I’m proud of it. At least now, I can pay my monthly subscription amount for my domain Easybeing.in

My Ezoic Dashboard

I’ve always been fascinated by the income reports posted by bloggers and think about it every single night with many questions rambling inside my head.

I was never heard of the terms, passive income, freelancing, blogging, content creation, social media marketing, and so many unknown words.

All I know is watching a few cooking & organization videos on Youtube that too during covid.

But, I came to the conclusion that I should start blogging after watching & listening to golden words by Tasleen of The Urban Fight (YouTube Channel)

“Why do we have to settle just by consuming content on the internet, why not create some?”

How did I enter Blogging?

After I decided to create content/work on the internet to make some extra money, my search for the right option began.

I searched for various options like data entry, captcha entry, voice assistant jobs, and much more.

But, there’s huge competition everywhere. I understood that just having proper internet and a smartphone/laptop isn’t enough to survive the competition today.

Like any other job offline, you must have the skill, dedication, and strong will to survive online.

I’m not a business person to open a shop for reselling using the options like Meesho, Shopify, etc.

I’m not a camera-friendly personality, so I never thought of Youtube.

But, I really love writing since childhood, I write the happenings in my life at least a week and I journal a lot in my own style.

And, I really love to explain how-to’s, and search a lot about anything and write about it.

So, that’s how Blogging came into the picture for me.

How Did I set up my Blog?

Again, I consumed the content on the internet and was finally able to create my blog on WordPress for free.

Soon, I realized that Setting up a blog on wordpress.com is cool, but in order to make money through blogging, you have to apply for ads on your website.

Ad networks can work only if we have a proper blog setup and are hosted on the internet with a unique domain name.

So, I explored and exploded my search once again, finally bought the domain easybeing.in through BLUEHOST.

I transferred everything to wordpress.org from wordpress.com since ORG has more benefits compared to the latter.

For hosting the content on the internet, I used Bluehost services. In easy terms, hosting means renting or buying a space on the internet.

For creating the content (eg: my blog design, colors, categories, and everything we see on the interface) I used wordpress.org.

How did I create content on my Blog?

Finally, after all the struggle of setting up a blog on my own, I had to create content for the blog

Now the real question comes up – What to write on the blog? Will anyone read my blog? Can it be really helpful to anyone? Does anyone really like the content I put?

What if I end up paying bills for hosting and earning nothing?

Am I wasting money & time, Should I invest my time&money in something else?

While these questions always pop up in my head even now, I decided to continue blogging, not because I’ve seen people on Pinterest posting their success stories, but because I really enjoy blogging.

I want to build a system through blogging, that gives me money for my work, and for the time I’m investing in it.

And, on top of everything above, I need to create an identity for myself. I do not just want to settle for less and regular.

I want to build something on my own, which is valid, honest, and real.

So, while I was almost on the verge of ignoring the blog, I found these amazing people on social media and they gave me hope that BLOGGING CAN WORK!!!!
